Procedure of Super White Wash:
Super white wash is done in three steps. A process of super white wash on 100% cotton garments made from grey fabrics is described below:

Step 01:
Load the washing machine with 100 kg cotton garments and 500 liter water @ 1:5. Start machine running and add the following chemicals in the liquor.

  • Detergent —–@ 2% ———— 2 kg
  • Caustic soda —– @ 10% ——- 10 kg
  • Hydrogen peroxide — @ 12% — 12 liter
  • Stabilizer ——– @ 5% ——— 5 liter

Then start steam supply to raise liquor temperature to 95ºC and continue processing for 75 minutes. During this period, detergent and caustic soda combindly acts on fabric and removes size materials, wax, ash, pectins, pectose etc. impurities from the fabric. At the same time per-hydroxyl ions  are evolved from the hydrogen peroxide, those per-hydroxyl ions destroys the natural coloring materials present in the fiber, hence the fabrics becomes white. Presence of stabilizer confirms the production of per-hydroxyl ions. At the end of 1st step processing, steam supply should be stopped and then the liquor is to be drained-off.

Step 02:
Again load 500 liter water in the washing machine, start machine running and steam supply and the following chemicals in the liquor.

  • Detergent —–@ 2% ———— 2 kg
  • Caustic soda —– @ 4% ——- 4 kg
  • Hydrogen peroxide — @ 10% — 10 liter
  • Stabilizer ——– @ 5% ——— 5 liter

Raise the liquor temperature to 95ºC and continue processing for 90 minutes. During this 2nd step of processing, remaining impurities and remaining coloring materials present in the garment fabric is removed completely. Then drop the liquor. Then again load 500 liter water, start machine running and start steam supply to raise liquor temperature to 50ºC. Continue processing for 5 minutes to remove adhering impurities from the garment fabric surface. Then drop the liquor. Again add 500 liter water in the washing machine and start machine running. Add acetic acid @ 1% that is 1 liter to the liquor and continue processing for 5 minutes. As a result the garments will be in neutral condition. Then drop the liquor.

Step 03:
At the 3rd step of processing, add 500 liter water in the washing machine and start machine running. Then add fluorescent whitening agent (FWA/FBA) @ 1% that is 1 kg to the liquor and continue processing for 5 minutes. Due to this treatment, the garments become brilliant bluish white, which is very attractive. Then drop the liquor, stop the machine running, unload the garments, hydroextruct the garments and dry the garments in the steam drying machine. Then deliver the garments.
